J. Darrell Steele, DDS is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon located in Coppell, Texas. He grew up in the Dallas area attending The University of Texas at Arlington and Baylor College of Dentistry. While at Baylor, Dr. Steele was a member of the Odontological Honor Society. This society is composed of the top students selected by faculty and student members. Upon graduation he was selected to attend the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training residency program in Kansas City Missouri. While in Kansas City Dr. Steele graduated from the UMKC School of Medicine and completed a one-year General Surgery program in addition to his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Steele was the Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery during his final year in the program.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the specialty of dentistry that encompasses surgical treatment of the face, jaws, teeth, gums, lips and the areas of the body adjacent to these structures. This means that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons treat cosmetic and functional conditions of the face, head and neck.
Dr. Steele and his wife, Dr. Linda Steele, a pediatric dentist, opened their combined specialty dental office in Coppell in 2001. They recently moved into a new state-of-the-art facility at Hwy 121 and Denton Tap road. This new facility allows the doctors to treat patients with the most up-to-date facilities and equipment resulting in more satisfied patients and patient care.
